CVBL: Brooklyn Coach Gets Upset over Detroit
Rosemond's great game led Brooklyn to a 107-89 upset of Detroit. "He really gave us the win," said winning coach Bob. "I think the rest of the team really felt intimidated coming in, but Rosemond showed them that we could pull off the win. You could really see the confidence build as time went on."
Bigelow paced Detroit, but his effort was not enough. "It's easy to blame the star when we come up short," said Detroit coach David Smith. "But really, if we all played like him we'd have won. It's just that we sometimes take him for granted and sit around watching him dominate. Today's game served as a wake-up call for the rest of the team."
Brooklyn was led by Rosemond (19 points, 10 boards, 0 assists), Holmes (15 points, 8 boards, 1 assists), Knight (21 points). Detroit was led by Bigelow (16 points, 5 boards, 2 assists), Marko (17 points, a steal), Merriman (12 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal).
Brooklyn improve to 34-35 and 18-16 at home with this victory. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and remain at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, Detroit stand at 49-21. They clinched the Central title and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
