CVBL: LA Clippers Stumbles, Portland Wins

A superb game by Thomas stole the 92-88 win for Portland over heavily-favored LA Clippers. "Not much we could do to counter him today," said LA Clippers coach Adnan Bislimovic. "I mean, we tried just about everything to stop him to no avail."

Portland coach Bob was thrilled with the win but realistic about his team. "To be honest, we all know that LA Clippers is better than we are, and I'm not looking forward to playing them again - especially with revenge on their minds. But Thomas had the game of his life today, and we were able to come away with the huge win. Whether we deserved it or not, the a win is a win on the standings."

Portland was led by Thomas (19 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, a block), Blackwell (16 points, 12 boards, 1 assists), Allbritton (18 points, a block). LA Clippers was led by Arnold (19 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Starks (10 points, 4 assists, a steal), Quarles (21 points).

After this win, Portland jump to 31-38 and 20-15 at home. They stay at #4 in the Northwest and stay at #12 overall in the Western Conference. LA Clippers are now 66-5. They have won the Pacific championship and stay at #1 overall in the Western Conference.
