CVBL: Cleveland Takes Out Memphis in a Big Win for Bob
Cleveland came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 105-99 upset of Memphis. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Memphis coach Bob after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen Cleveland play for some time."
Credit has to be given to Cleveland coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Hobbs. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
Cleveland was led by Hobbs (5 points, 19 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 6 blocks), Smith (17 points, 5 boards, 7 assists), Patrick (19 points, a block). Memphis was led by Whitfield (20 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, a block), Dimascio (20 points, 2 assists), Calloway (19 points, a steal, 2 blocks).
Cleveland stand at 39-32. They stay at #5 in the Central and stay at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference. Memphis broke their winning streak at 6 games, and are now 52-17 and 28-7 at home. They hold at #1 in the Southwest and hold at #1 overall in the Western Conference.
