CVBL: San Antonio Takes Out Charlotte in a Big Win for Bob
San Antonio came out solid today, defying the predictions and notching the 107-98 upset of Charlotte. "Somebody forgot to tell them they were underdogs," quipped Charlotte coach Bob after the game. "No question, they were the better team out there today and deserved this win. I thought we came in prepared, but that was just a lot better than we've seen San Antonio play for some time."
Credit has to be given to San Antonio coach Bob, who brought his team together after some tough losses earlier and has them playing at their best. "Some of the us really took those losses hard," said star Mudd. "But coach sat us down and showed us what we were doing wrong and what we needed to do to turn around. That was great to hear, and you saw the results today."
San Antonio was led by Mudd (16 points, 5 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Almanzar (11 points, 11 assists, a steal), Duncan (12 points, 11 boards, 4 assists). Charlotte was led by Plungis (16 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Gish (16 points, 3 blocks), Starks (12 points, 3 steals).
San Antonio improve to 36-34. They remain at #4 in the Southwest and hold at #7 overall in the Western Conference. After today's loss, Charlotte fall to 44-27 and 26-9 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southeast and remain at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference.
