CVBL: Sacramento Defeats Phoenix 106-100
Westbrook made 40 points, as he continues to dominate the league and helped Sacramento post a 106-100 win over Phoenix. The game was a solid team effort, but Westbrook - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Phoenix key player, Kennedy.
Westbrook's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to Sacramento fans everywhere." Phoenix coach Bob was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Westbrook is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Kennedy certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."
Sacramento was led by Westbrook (40 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, a block), Coleman (21 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Lake (12 points, 2 assists, 3 steals, a block). Phoenix was led by Kennedy (12 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, a block), Bermel (7 points, a steal, a block), Taylor (25 points).
Sacramento halted their slide at 6 games, and improve to 24-48 and 17-17 at home. They remain at #2 in the Pacific and remain at #11 overall in the Western Conference. With today's loss, Phoenix stand at 17-54. They move down to #4 in the Pacific and drop to #14 overall in the Western Conference.
