CVBL: Brooklyn Beats Cleveland 108-99
Owens scored 43 points, leading Brooklyn to a narrow 108-99 win over Cleveland. For much of the game, it looked like Cleveland would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Patrick. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Brooklyn star Owens leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Brooklyn coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Owens was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Brooklyn was led by Owens (43 points, 5 boards, 9 assists, a block), Jeanlouis (21 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Jackson (6 points, 5 boards, 9 assists). Cleveland was led by Patrick (25 points, 5 blocks), Smith (19 points, a block), Workman (17 points, a block).
Brooklyn stand at 50-21. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's loss, Cleveland stand at 39-33 and 24-13 at home. They hold at #5 in the Central and stay at #9 overall in the Eastern Conference.
