CVBL: Miami Cruises Past Chicago
Miami played a solid game today, beating Chicago 115-98. Chicago players and fans were expecting the game to be a bit closer, but everything went well for Miami today. "It was really frustrating," said Chicago star Johnson. "I thought we were going to be ready for this game, but we just couldn't do anything against them." Coach Bob seemed perplexed early on, but made a few adjustments late in the game that were too little, too late in this game but may help his side out next time these two teams meet.
Miami was led by Williams (28 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Hannah (16 points, 4 blocks), Keeney (13 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, a block). Chicago was led by Johnson (16 points, 5 assists, a steal), Cobbs (13 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Joseph (8 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, a steal).
Miami are now 44-28. They have clinched the Southeast championship and hold at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. After the defeat, Chicago drop to 34-37 and 20-15 at home. They remain at #3 in the Central and remain at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
