CVBL: Utah Pulls out the Win over Minnesota
The fans got what they came out for, as Utah won a seesaw 88-81 victory over Minnesota. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Utah star Feaster. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
Minnesota coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Feaster and [Minnesota star] Patterson really put on a show for the fans."
Utah was led by Feaster (17 points, 23 boards, 1 assists, a block), Cummings (23 points), Patton (18 points, 1 assists). Minnesota was led by Patterson (10 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, a block), Powers (22 points, 7 boards, 0 assists), Dirks (10 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 3 blocks).
Utah jump to 41-31 with this victory. They stay at #3 in the Northwest and remain at #6 overall in the Western Conference. Minnesota are now 34-39 and 20-15 at home after this defeat. They stay at #5 in the Northwest and fall to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
