CVBL: New York 107, New Orleans 99
New York beat New Orleans today in a 107-99 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like New Orleans would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Jones. But the tide finally turned in the end, with New York star Crawford leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said New York coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Crawford was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
New York was led by Crawford (13 points, 15 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Speight (19 points, 4 assists, 3 steals), Powell (18 points, 12 boards, 2 assists). New Orleans was led by Jones (34 points, a block), Mitchell (12 points, 5 boards, 10 assists, 2 steals), Williams (28 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block).
New York improve to 51-20 and 27-7 at home. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's defeat, New Orleans are now 27-45. They hold at #4 in the Southwest and remain at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
