CVBL: Portland Snatches Win over Oklahoma Cty

Portland downed Oklahoma Cty today 119-110, thanks to a solid effort by star King. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said King after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Bob echoed the sentiments, saying "Oklahoma Cty came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."

Oklahoma Cty players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Schab, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."

Portland was led by King (22 points, 7 boards, 5 assists), Guerrero (24 points, 2 blocks), Harper (14 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks). Oklahoma Cty was led by Schab (25 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, a block), Wilson (21 points, 2 blocks), Smith (18 points, 0 assists, a block).

With today's win, Portland are now 39-33 and 25-13 at home. They hold at #2 in the Northwest and remain at #6 overall in the Western Conference. After today's loss, Oklahoma Cty stand at 29-43. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and hold at #9 overall in the Western Conference.
