CVBL: Orlando Knocks Off Miami

Orlando pulled off the upset, beating Miami in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Miami a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Miami coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Mack and others, gave Orlando the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."

Orlando was led by Mack (35 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Archie (8 points, 6 boards, 14 assists, 3 steals), Small (10 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Miami was led by Torres (6 points, 12 boards, 14 assists, 4 steals), Perry (16 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, a steal), Byrd (16 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks).

Orlando jump to 34-39 and 19-17 at home. They stay at #3 in the Southeast and hold at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference. With today's loss, Miami are now 46-26. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
