CVBL: Sacramento Wins in Blowout
Sacramento ruined the day for New Orleans with a 111-77 blowout. In a pregame interview, New Orleans coach Bob was optimistic about his team's chances. "We've made some mistakes lately, but if everyone does what they are supposed to we can beat Sacramento. Don't get me wrong, Bob has built a good team and there's a reason they're the favorites. But we're just as good if we stop making our mental mistakes." Said New Orleans star Jones, "Coach is right. We've done some reworking of our talent and our game plan, and we've got what it takes to play with Sacramento."
Those predictions turned out to be wishful thinking, as Bob and his team will go back to the drawing boards after getting shredded in today's game.
Sacramento was led by Bravo (29 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Davis (16 points, 16 boards, 3 assists, a steal), Sherrill (15 points, 2 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). New Orleans was led by Jones (21 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Mitchell (10 points, 3 steals), Williams (16 points, a block).
Sacramento extended their winning streak 5 games and stand at 53-20 and 29-6 at home. They improve to #1 in the Pacific and improve to #1 overall in the Western Conference. New Orleans stand at 27-46. They stay at #4 in the Southwest and stay at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
