CVBL: Miami Snatches Win over Utah
Williams continues to dominate the league and helped Miami post an expected win over Utah, 95-94. The game was a solid team effort, but Williams - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Utah key player, Feaster.
Williams's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to Miami fans everywhere." Utah coach Coach Young was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Williams is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Feaster certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."
Miami was led by Williams (29 points, 5 boards, 1 assists), Keeney (21 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Romero (15 points, 6 boards, 0 assists). Utah was led by Feaster (30 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a block), Cummings (14 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Kaplan (15 points, 2 blocks).
After this victory, Miami stand at 45-28. They have won the Southeast championship and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Utah fall to 41-32 and 23-13 at home with this loss. They stay at #3 in the Northwest and remain at #6 overall in the Western Conference.
