CVBL: Detroit All Over Milwaukee
A great Detroit team and a mediocre Milwaukee team met today, the result being an expected 114-84 drubbing. Detroit took control from the outset, never appearing troubled in the least. Said Detroit coach David Smith, "We've got a good group of players this year, and they pulled off the win just like we drew it up. Frankly Milwaukee isn't exactly tough opposition, but it was still nice to come out with the big win."
Milwaukee coach Bob seemed resigned to the loss even before the game, saying "We're just hoping to keep them from running away with it and not look bad. Even that will take a bit of luck; we just don't match up with these guys."
Detroit was led by Duckworth (6 points, 8 boards, 11 assists, 2 steals), Bigelow (17 points, 10 boards, 2 assists), Burke (13 points, 12 boards, 1 assists). Milwaukee was led by Young (15 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Ellison (5 points, 8 assists, 3 steals, a block), Momon (13 points, 3 steals, a block).
Detroit jump to 53-21 and 30-7 at home with today's victory. They clinched the Central title and hold at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee drop to 29-44. They hold at #3 in the Central and remain at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
