CVBL: Milwaukee Express Steamrolls New York 127-117
Milwaukee downed New York today 127-117, thanks to a solid effort by star Reese. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams having their moments but neither side able to dominate for any extended length of time. Said Reese after the game, "This one could have easily gone either way. We're just glad that we came out with the win." Coach Bob echoed the sentiments, saying "New York came out strong and ready to play, and we knew from the start that it would be a battle out there. Probably if we played them 10 times, both sides would get five wins. But we got the win today, and that's what counts."
New York players were disappointed after the game, and coach Bob had his hands full keeping their spirits up. "They know they played their hearts out today, and that it wasn't enough. That's a tough feeling. Especially for Dixon, who had one heck of a game but couldn't carry the whole team on his shoulders."
Milwaukee was led by Reese (31 points, a steal), Martinez (7 points, 5 boards, 10 assists, a steal), Valentine (9 points, 14 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks). New York was led by Dixon (34 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Rowe (24 points, 5 boards, 1 assists), Ortega (19 points, a steal, a block).
Milwaukee stand at 49-25 and 28-10 at home with this victory. They hold at #1 in the Central and remain at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference. New York fall to 35-40. They hold at #3 in the Atlantic and hold at #10 overall in the Eastern Conference.
