CVBL: Brooklyn Snatches Win over Minnesota
The fans got what they came out for, as Brooklyn won a seesaw 104-95 victory over Minnesota. "What a great game to have been a part of," said Brooklyn star Owens. "The momentum kept changing and neither team really had a chance to run away with the game. It just came down to having more in the tank at the end, and that was us."
Minnesota coach Bob was less enthusiastic about the game. "We had our chances to win the game, but didn't convert them. I'm most bothered that it seemed like we faded down the stretch; I think we may need to spend a little more time working on conditioning in the future. Regardless, it was a great game. Owens and [Minnesota star] Holloway really put on a show for the fans."
Brooklyn was led by Owens (34 points, 3 assists, a block), Jackson (8 points, 2 steals), Jeanlouis (14 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks). Minnesota was led by Holloway (12 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals), Smith (17 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Tracy (11 points, 10 boards, 4 assists).
Brooklyn improve to 53-21. They hold at #1 in the Atlantic and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Minnesota stand at 21-53 and 14-25 at home with the loss. They remain at #5 in the Northwest and remain at #12 overall in the Western Conference.
