CVBL: Minnesota 98, Toronto 95
Minnesota overcame a great game by Daniels, beating Toronto 98-95. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Daniels out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Daniels) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.
The normally-quiet Daniels was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."
Minnesota was led by Patterson (18 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 4 blocks), Dirks (16 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks), Mark (14 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Toronto was led by Daniels (21 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Day (20 points, a steal, a block), Perkins (13 points, 4 assists, 2 blocks).
Minnesota stand at 36-39 and 22-15 at home. They move up to #4 in the Northwest and move up to #9 overall in the Western Conference. Toronto are now 35-39 with today's loss. They hold at #4 in the Atlantic and remain at #7 overall in the Eastern Conference.
