CVBL: Sacramento Wins

A solid outing by Brown led Sacramento to a 91-86 win over Boston. "Take away Brown, and we'd have won this thing," said Boston coach Bob. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Sacramento over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."

Sacramento coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Brown do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Brown will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."

Sacramento was led by Brown (28 points, 1 assists), Heath (5 points, 8 boards, 11 assists, 2 steals), Longstreet (9 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, a block). Boston was led by Jackson (6 points, 10 assists, 3 steals), Dubois (12 points, 5 assists, a block), Stubbs (19 points, a block).

With this win, Sacramento jump to 37-38. They hold at #3 in the Pacific and stay at #8 overall in the Western Conference. Boston drop to 30-43 and 20-17 at home. They hold at #5 in the Atlantic and remain at #10 overall in the Eastern Conference.
