CVBL: Miami Express Steamrolls Chicago 100-90
Miami beat Chicago today in a 100-90 game that was close the whole way. For much of the game, it looked like Chicago would be able to pull off the win, thanks in large part to an outstanding performance by Joseph. But the tide finally turned in the end, with Miami star Williams leading his team to victory.
"Definitely a great game," said Miami coach Bob after the game. "The fans got their money's worth out of it, and both teams put up a good fight. We're just glad that we were able to finish strong and get the W. Williams was a big part of that, and I don't think we'd have won without his efforts."
Miami was led by Williams (25 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Romero (10 points, 14 boards, 0 assists), Colomb (21 points, 0 assists). Chicago was led by Joseph (20 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, a block), Smith (17 points, 3 blocks), Johnson (5 points, 3 steals).
Miami extended their winning streak 5 games and stand at 47-28 and 31-9 at home. They clinched the Southeast title and remain at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Chicago fall to 34-40. They stay at #3 in the Central and stay at #8 overall in the Eastern Conference.
