CVBL: Utah Surprises Minnesota 95-88
"Utah Cheat Minnesota," screamed the headlines this morning after some questionable officiating in last night's contest. Even neutral observers wonder whether the set of refs will ever be asked to call another game, as Utah got the benefit of every marginal call and a few others that were obviously bad. "The game was rigged more than the WWF," said an upset Minnesota coach Bob after the game. "You've seen the replays. I don't need to say any more." League officials were slower to jump to conclusions, but an anonymous source said that the commissioner was watching the broadcast and couldn't believe his eyes in some cases. "The commish was saying he could have made better calls off his 5 inch travel TV."
Utah was led by Bernard (23 points, 32 boards, 1 assists), Morris (22 points), Edwards (7 points, 2 blocks). Minnesota was led by Nordman (12 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Cook (24 points, 3 blocks), Jaramillo (6 points, 12 boards, 1 assists, 4 blocks).
After today's win, Utah jump to 40-35 and 25-14 at home. They hold at #3 in the Northwest and stay at #6 overall in the Western Conference. After this loss, Minnesota drop to 45-29. They remain at #1 in the Northwest and remain at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
