CVBL: LA Clippers Clobbers Milwaukee

Newton was unstoppable today, leading LA Clippers to a 95-81 win over Milwaukee. "I've never seen anything like that," said Milwaukee star Reese. "Newton just flat-out dominated, and there was nothing any of us could do about it." Agreed coach Bob, "He's an excellent talent with an excellent coach. I'm afraid that we'll be seeing more of him down the road."

Newton refused to get caught up in the excitement, however. "I just did what coach told me to do," he said. "And we couldn't have won without my teammates doing their best as well." While true, Newton certainly increased the margin of victory from a close call to a solid win.

LA Clippers was led by Newton (7 points, 13 assists, 2 steals, a block), Jenkins (23 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a block), Wood (14 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a block). Milwaukee was led by Reese (22 points, 1 assists, a steal), Thomas (23 points, 0 assists, a steal), Banks (6 points, 6 assists, 2 steals, a block).

LA Clippers stand at 54-21 and 32-5 at home with the victory. They have clinched the Pacific title and remain at #3 overall in the Western Conference. Milwaukee are now 49-26 after this loss. They stay at #1 in the Central and hold at #2 overall in the Eastern Conference.
