CVBL: Philadelphia Cruises Past Phoenix
Philadelphia beat Phoenix by a score of 105-92, even catching some fans off guard. "We knew the lines in Vegas listed us as favorites," said Philadelphia coach Bob. "And we knew we had a great shot going in, but really expected a more competitive game. I don't know whether we were really that good or whether they had something else on their minds. Whatever, we're thrilled to get this kind of win over an excellent team like Phoenix."
Said Phoenix star Celaya, "Coach kept yelling at us 'you know you're better than that,' and he was right. We just didn't have the intensity or whatever today, and it showed in our game. The good thing is that we know we can't play much worse than we did out there, and that we could have won if we'd played as good as we're capable of playing."
Philadelphia was led by Austin (33 points, 5 boards, 3 assists), Blunt (9 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Ziegler (16 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks). Phoenix was led by Celaya (23 points, a steal, a block), Fripp (17 points, 0 assists), Virtue (8 points, 3 assists, a block).
With this win, Philadelphia stand at 41-34. They stay at #3 in the Atlantic and hold at #5 overall in the Eastern Conference. Phoenix are now 35-40 and 21-18 at home with the loss. They stay at #3 in the Pacific and move down to #11 overall in the Western Conference.
