CVBL: 97-82 Brooklyn

Brooklyn overpowered Memphis today, showing who is the better team. Most around the league expected this kind of result, but Memphis head coach Bob was defiant until game time. "Underdogs, my ----. We've got enough talent and enough heart to play with anybody in the league." Afterwards, his tune had changed significantly. "We've got some work ahead of us before we can play at their level."

The only bright point for Memphis was the great play by Washington, and Bob was quick to praise his star. "If the whole team had played with his energy, we'd have been able to play with Brooklyn. The bright side is that we know what he can do against them, and we'll try to build on that for our next meeting."

Brooklyn was led by Lee (24 points, 23 boards, 2 assists), Jeanlouis (17 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Fuller (19 points, a block). Memphis was led by Washington (34 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Hayes (21 points, a steal, 2 blocks), Murray (7 points, 3 assists, a block).

After the victory, Brooklyn improve to 51-24 and 28-8 at home. They remain at #2 in the Atlantic and hold at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Memphis are now 51-24. They have won the Southwest title and stay at #3 overall in the Western Conference.
