CVBL: Bob Ecstatic as Atlanta Upsets Brooklyn
Wade put Atlanta on his back today, carrying them to a stunning 123-112 victory over Brooklyn. "I'd never tell my players this coming into the game, but I knew they were they better team and was just hoping to avoid getting blown out," said Atlanta coach Bob. "And aside from Wade, Brooklyn was the better team out there and probably should have won. But Wade was about as good as I've ever seen him, and we were able to hitch up and ride him to the win."
Brooklyn coach Bob was impressed. "You certainly can't count on a single player to consistently steal wins for your team, but that's what Wade did for them today. We just have to hope for a more human performance from him next time we meet."
Atlanta was led by Wade (26 points, 19 boards, 1 assists), Miranda (5 points, 17 boards, 3 assists, a block), Moore (19 points, 7 boards, 3 assists). Brooklyn was led by Jackson (21 points, 8 assists, 2 steals), Owens (17 points, 7 assists, a block), Hargrove (17 points, 12 boards, 1 assists).
Atlanta are now 34-44 and 25-16 at home. They remain at #4 in the Southeast and hold at #12 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Brooklyn are now 53-23. They have won the Atlantic championship and remain at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference.
