CVBL: Washington Beats Orlando

Washington overcame a great game by Archie, beating Orlando 114-105. "It's a team sport," said losing coach Bob. "If we had another couple players like Archie out there, we'd have won this game easily. But we didn't, so we didn't." Bob has been under fire lately, and the lackluster performance by his players (save Archie) certainly doesn't improve his job security any.

The normally-quiet Archie was less than satisfied after the game. "I feel betrayed - like I did my best and my teammates didn't. I don't know if it was coach's fault for not getting the team up, or if the other players just all had an off day at the same time. But this was a close game, we had our chances, and we didn't execute when we needed."

Washington was led by Gibson (30 points, 9 assists, 3 steals, a block), White (7 points, 12 assists, 2 steals), Gavagan (17 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks). Orlando was led by Archie (6 points, 5 boards, 16 assists, 4 steals), Small (16 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Mack (21 points, 1 assists, a block).

With the victory, Washington improve to 32-44 and 21-16 at home. They stay at #5 in the Southeast and remain at #13 overall in the Eastern Conference. With the defeat, Orlando fall to 35-41. They hold at #3 in the Southeast and hold at #11 overall in the Eastern Conference.
