CVBL: San Antonio Beats Odds and Minnesota
San Antonio pulled off the upset, beating Minnesota in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Minnesota a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Minnesota coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Sessoms and others, gave San Antonio the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
San Antonio was led by Sessoms (13 points, 14 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 4 blocks), Bean (12 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block), Cross (5 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, 3 blocks). Minnesota was led by Kennerson (18 points, 5 assists, 3 steals), Jaramillo (8 points, 18 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Nordman (15 points, 1 assists, 2 blocks).
