CVBL: San Antonio Plays the Spoiler
San Antonio beat favored Dallas today 99-96, perhaps serving notice that their time has come. Said San Antonio coach Bob, "It's been a bit of a struggle this season, but I think we are finally getting things turned around a bit. The players are finally picking up on some of the finer points of our system, and I think we have a bright future ahead."
This comes as poorly-timed news for Dallas coach Bob, whose team was blindsided by San Antonio. "It's tough to prepare for a game in which your opponent plays vastly better than they ever had before," he said. "You try to pick up on tendencies and weaknesses by watching tapes, but Bob has overhauled San Antonio so much that aside from the uniforms, I'd have thought it was an entirely different group of players out there."
San Antonio was led by Meyers (20 points, 2 assists, 3 steals), Taylor (6 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Williams (17 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal). Dallas was led by Perry (39 points, 8 boards, 1 assists), Forrester (19 points, 1 assists, a steal), White (5 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks).
