Miami pulled off the upset, beating Charlotte in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Charlotte coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Roberson and others, gave Miami the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."

Miami extended their winning streak 5 games and stand at 45-32 and 30-10 at home. They remain at #2 in the Southeast and stay at #4 overall in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte drop to 50-28. They hold at #1 in the Southeast and stay at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference.
