CVBL: Philadelphia Tie Series 1-1 in Eastern Conference First Round
Philadelphia leveled the the Eastern Conference First Round 1-1 with a big 97-86 win over an overmatched Brooklyn team. Always politically correct, Philadelphia coach Bob stated simply "We just managed to do what we needed to get done out there. The players had solid execution all around, and Blunt's effort helped set the pace. Brooklyn is a team we've had success against in the past, which I think gave us a bit more confidence coming in."
Brooklyn coach Bob was a little more frank. "We knew going in that we'd need a miracle to beat Philadelphia, and we didn't get it. They have better players and a better coach, and did what they were supposed to do out there. I'm just glad the final score wasn't even worse."
Philadelphia was led by Blunt (19 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Ferguson (10 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Austin (11 points). Brooklyn was led by Hester (29 points, 1 assists), Spring (15 points, 0 assists), Johnson (12 points, 5 boards, 1 assists).
