CVBL: Toronto Defeats Atlanta 91-83
Toronto are leading Atlanta in the Eastern Conference First Round 3-0. Joyner continued to dominate the league and helped Toronto post a 91-83 win over Atlanta. The game was a solid team effort, but Joyner - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Atlanta key player, Jackson.
Joyner's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to Toronto fans everywhere." Atlanta coach Bob was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Joyner is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Jackson certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."
Toronto was led by Joyner (18 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Burke (17 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a steal), Edwards (5 points, a steal). Atlanta was led by Jackson (13 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Perry (17 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a block), Hamilton (17 points, 1 assists).
