CVBL: New York Takes Out Atlanta in a Big Win for Bob
New York trail in the Eastern Conference First Round 1-2, pulling off the upset and beating Atlanta in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Atlanta a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Atlanta coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Crawford and others, gave New York the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
New York was led by Crawford (23 points, 9 boards, 4 assists, 4 blocks), Speight (18 points, 3 steals), Dillard (21 points, 0 assists, a block). Atlanta was led by Jackson (19 points, 10 boards, 1 assists), Simon (17 points, 2 steals), Collins (12 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a block).
