CVBL: 104-86 Minnesota
Minnesota pulled even with Phoenix in the Western Conference First Round 2-2 with a 104-86 beating of Phoenix. Phoenix looked beaten for most of the afternoon, and the final outcome was in little doubt. "I thought we came out ready to play, but we were just overmatched," said Phoenix coach Bob. "It's kind of demoralizing to lose that way, knowing that you played your best and it wasn't nearly enough." Bob now has the unenviable task of getting his team ready to face another day.
Minnesota coach Bob couldn't be happier, though. His game plan was executed perfectly, and his players were able to dominate all aspects of the game. "It's great to get a win like this, when everything went according to plan."
Minnesota was led by Woodard (17 points, 2 assists, 2 steals), Jensen (23 points, 1 assists), Daniels (9 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Phoenix was led by Jones (22 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Meyers (11 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Dupree (11 points, a steal).
