CVBL: New Orleans Dominate Dallas 4-0, Move Past the Western Conference First Round
New Orleans got through the Western Conference First Round by sweeping Dallas 4-0 after a 107-89 defeat of Dallas, led by Taylor's great game. Although Dallas certainly planned for Taylor in their pre-game strategy, stopping him during the game turned out to be more of a challenge. "We thought we knew how to beat New Orleans, but we were dead wrong," said Dallas coach Bob. "We figured we'd try to put them out of their game plan and try to limit Taylor's effectiveness, but it simply didn't happen - he was just too good."
Said Taylor, "I knew I had a target on my back, and took it as a challenge. If they're going to change their game plan to stop me, it gives me that much more desire to step up and perservere. Anyway, they know what I can do now, so we'll see if they dare try this strategy again." Tune in next time.
New Orleans was led by Taylor (8 points, 6 boards, 10 assists, a steal), Howie (21 points, 1 assists, 2 steals, a block), Bobb (5 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). Dallas was led by Meyers (19 points, 10 boards, 2 assists), Madison (19 points), Kay (11 points, a steal, a block).
