CVBL: Detroit Survives Toronto in Overtime
Detroit swept Toronto 4-0 to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, escaping by the narrowest of margins and beating Toronto 103-97 in overtime. "Not a stellar game on our part," commented Detroit coach David Smith. "We gave them way too many chances and they nearly made us pay. But I think our guys started to wake up near the end and realize it wasn't going to be an easy win. Gilliam especially kept us in it until the rest of the guys decided to step it up."
Toronto coach Bob was clearly disappointed with the final score. "So close..."
Detroit was led by Gilliam (36 points, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Henderson (18 points, 20 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Graham (19 points, 8 boards, 0 assists, a block). Toronto was led by Wright (11 points, 13 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Daniels (23 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Perkins (9 points, 4 blocks).
