CVBL: New York Schools Chicago
New York got a much-needed win but are still down in the Eastern Conference First Round 2-3 after an easy 118-84 win over Chicago that left the losers looking like they don't belong in the same league. The team is in a rebuilding phase, and from the looks of today's game it may be a while before they can be competitive. "That sure looked bad, didn't it?" said Chicago coach Bob. "We knew coming in that New York is a great team and that we really shouldn't expect much at the moment. This will serve as a way to measure our progress when we see them next season."
New York was led by Powell (15 points, 21 boards, 1 assists, a block), Gorman (24 points, 2 steals), Crawford (15 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, 2 blocks). Chicago was led by Johnson (13 points, 9 assists, a steal), Joseph (11 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Mcadoo (8 points, 3 assists, a steal, a block).
