CVBL: Miami Get Past Philadelphia 4-1, Advance Past the Eastern Conference First Round
Miami got beyond the Eastern Conference First Round by knocking off Philadelphia 4-1 with a 106-101 win over Philadelphia. Although some pundits were predicting a blowout, the two teams delivered a memorable game that left the fans on the edges of their seats until the very end. "It's one of those games that nobody should have to lose," said Miami coach Bob. "I'm definitely glad it wasn't us."
Philadelphia coach Bob will be rethinking some of his choices for some time. "I thought we tried the right things at the right times, but of course hindsight is perfect. Obviously not everything we did worked, though, and in a game like this that could have made the difference."
Miami was led by Keeney (36 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block), Romero (15 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal), Colomb (23 points). Philadelphia was led by Austin (21 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, a steal, a block), Ziegler (18 points, 5 boards, 4 assists), Blunt (6 points, 15 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block).
