CVBL: Philadelphia Over Brooklyn
Philadelphia are leading Brooklyn in the Eastern Conference First Round 3-2 after squeezing out a 89-80 win today against Brooklyn. Both teams came out of the gates strong but a late game push by Philadelphia was just enough to hold off Brooklyn. Coach Bob said, "This game is really a sign of things to come. We come out and play hard every night. Things are looking up, and the fans of Philadelphia have a lot to look forward to after this victory."
In the Brooklyn locker room after the game, players were in a somber mood. Even after the great team performance led by Alves, they still come up short. "We deserved to win. That was our game - we just need to be able to put our opposition away when we have them down. We really were the better team." said Alves after the game.
Philadelphia was led by Ferguson (20 points, 17 boards, 0 assists, 2 blocks), Blunt (15 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Eatmon (14 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a block). Brooklyn was led by Alves (11 points, 11 boards, 0 assists, a block), Hester (12 points, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Jeanlouis (16 points, 0 assists).
