CVBL: Detroit Wins
Detroit pulled even in the Eastern Conference First Round 3-3. Detroit star Delgado led the team to a win today in a key game against New York. Although standings were at stake, the game was as much about bragging rights as anything. The teams have a long history against each other that began when coaches David Smith and Bob traded insults after an apparently intentional injury to one of David Smith's players. Although Bob has long denied that there was any malicious intent, Detroit fans don't believe it and turn out in large numbers whenever New York comes to town.
Detroit was led by Delgado (28 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Fox (20 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Newman (14 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks). New York was led by Speight (15 points, 11 assists, 2 steals), Olson (22 points, 5 boards, 0 assists), Fuller (16 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, a steal).
