CVBL: Brooklyn Get Beyond the Eastern Conference First Round by Getting Through Philadelphia 4-3
Brooklyn sent home Philadelphia 4-3 to get through the Eastern Conference First Round as they ruined the day for Philadelphia with a 131-98 blowout. In a pregame interview, Philadelphia coach Bob was optimistic about his team's chances. "We've made some mistakes lately, but if everyone does what they are supposed to we can beat Brooklyn. Don't get me wrong, Bob has built a good team and there's a reason they're the favorites. But we're just as good if we stop making our mental mistakes." Said Philadelphia star Roberson, "Coach is right. We've done some reworking of our talent and our game plan, and we've got what it takes to play with Brooklyn."
Those predictions turned out to be wishful thinking, as Bob and his team will go back to the drawing boards after getting shredded in today's game.
Brooklyn was led by Owens (36 points, 7 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Jeanlouis (15 points, 6 assists, a steal, a block), Cooper (18 points, 2 steals). Philadelphia was led by Roberson (11 points, 3 steals, a block), Glover (16 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks), Franklin (13 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks).
