CVBL: Chicago Tie Series 1-1 in Eastern Conference Semifinals
Chicago pulled even in the Eastern Conference Semifinals 1-1, nipping Milwaukee 136-127 in overtime in a game that is destined to be a classic. The score was tight the entire way, with neither team ever able to get any meaningful advantage over the other. Said Chicago coach Bob, "I know it's a cliche, but it was a game that nobody deserved to lose. They played just as well as we did, the only difference being one crucial play at the end that gave us the score. We all know it could have gone the other way just as easily."
Milwaukee coach Bob was both exhausted and downcast after the game. "What a shame. After everything we put into this game, and how well and how hard we played the whole game, it really stings to come away with the loss. Our players, especially Thomas, left it all out there. It wasn't a matter of one team wanting the win more than the other; Chicago just got the break when it mattered, and that made the difference."
Chicago was led by Sigler (30 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, a steal, a block), Horton (21 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Wilson (11 points, 5 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals). Milwaukee was led by Thomas (36 points, 9 boards, 1 assists), Jaramillo (19 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 4 blocks), Hunter (14 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, a steal).
