CVBL: Denver Lead 2-1 in Western Conference Semifinals
Denver are ahead of New Orleans in the Western Conference Semifinals 2-1. Davidson continued to dominate the league and helped Denver post a 104-97 win over New Orleans. The game was a solid team effort, but Davidson - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by New Orleans key player, Howie.
Davidson's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to Denver fans everywhere." New Orleans coach Bob was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Davidson is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Howie certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."
Denver was led by Davidson (14 points, a steal, a block), Stanford (13 points, 16 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Flournoy (18 points, a block). New Orleans was led by Howie (41 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Fletcher (18 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Cummings (12 points, a block).
