CVBL: Bob Disapointed as Utah Wins in Overtime
Robinson scored 41 points, helping Utah to survive a great Brooklyn outing and win 125-117 in overtime. It was supposed to have been an easy game, but Brooklyn coach Bob had his team well-prepared and able to complete with favored Utah. Said Alves, "We thought Coach's pep talk was a little far-fetched, when he was telling us that we had the talent and game plan to win this game. But he was right; we had our chances to win and didn't. Still we have to feel good about what we proved against a great team like Utah."
Utah coach Coach Young was clearly relieved to have gotten the win. "That was a great team we played against today - don't let their record fool you. I thought we played a solid game, and even that wasn't enough to win during regulation."
Utah was led by Robinson (41 points, 3 steals, 3 blocks), Hill (20 points, 13 boards, 2 assists, a block), Shaw (16 points, 14 boards, 3 assists, a block). Brooklyn was led by Alves (26 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, a steal, 3 blocks), Walston (25 points, 10 boards, 0 assists, a block), Johnson (18 points, 0 assists, 2 blocks).
