CVBL: Memphis 93, Detroit 81

A collapse by Detroit led to a 93-81 beating by Memphis, increasing the pressure on the Detroit coach. David Smith had to suffer through the game as his players were ineffective and his former fans were heckling. To make matters worse, the team was dominated by hated Memphis, a bad thing for any Detroit coach.

"That ---- man can't win a ---- game if his ---- life depended on it!" screamed one disgruntled fan, who is obviously tired of Detroit losing ways. While Detroit deny it, rumors about that they have already started a search for a new coach who can turn this franchise around.

It was just more fuel for the fire today when Memphis took Detroit behind the woodpile for a 93-81 whooping. Although Vegas was predicting a Memphis win, many people believed the Detroit certainly had the talent to knock them off. Henderson did everything in his power to help his coach, but in the end Dolly led the Memphis to victory.

"You hate to see somebody with David Smith's character go through this. It's just a sad sight," commented Memphis coach Bob. "We're obviously delighted to get the victory over such a worthy adversary in a big rivalry game like this, and all I can do is credit my players, my assistants, and our fans."

Memphis was led by Dolly (29 points, a block), Huey (5 points, 5 steals), Maxwell (24 points, 0 assists). Detroit was led by Henderson (10 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, a block), Delgado (25 points, 0 assists, a steal), Lewis (12 points, 2 assists).
