CVBL: Houston Still Down 2-3 in Western Conference Semifinals
Houston are still down in the Western Conference Semifinals 2-3 with a 112-101 upset of Memphis. "That's the best we've played all season," said Houston coach Bob. "I've seen that potential in us all along, but for some reason it hasn't come out during games. Hopefully this outing can be the turning point for us that we can build on in future games."
Memphis was caught off-guard by new-look Houston. "What we got out there today wasn't what we had seen before or on tape, even in their best games. So while we always try to prepare for the worst, we had no idea that they could play as well as they did today. I still think we can beat them, and next time we'll have an idea what to look for."
Houston was led by White (14 points, 17 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Evans (18 points, 3 steals), Battle (24 points). Memphis was led by Maxwell (24 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Sigler (18 points, 9 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Hayes (19 points, 2 blocks).
