CVBL: Atlanta Over New Orleans in Overtime
New Orleans nearly pulled off the upset, but were beaten by Atlanta 116-110 in overtime. Although most expected an easy Atlanta win, New Orleans came out strong and at times looked like they would pull off the surprise. But the magic didn't last forever, and the better team prevailed in the end. Said Atlanta coach Bob, "I've got to give [New Orleans coach] Bob credit for getting his team ready to play today. They could have easily given up given the long odds, but they played great and forced us to play our best to finish with the win."
Bob had mixed feelings afterwards. "On the one hand, I'm thrilled that we were able to be competitive against a great team like Atlanta. On the other, it's tough to lose after being so close."
Atlanta was led by Jackson (10 points, 10 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals), Wright (23 points, 2 assists, a block), Green (26 points). New Orleans was led by Ziegler (24 points, 2 assists, a steal, a block), Vancourt (16 points, 8 boards, 1 assists, a steal, 2 blocks), Lundy (22 points, 5 boards, 1 assists).
