CVBL: Philadelphia Pulls out the Win over Toronto
Philadelphia advance to the Eastern Conference Finals by sending home Toronto 4-1 as they beat Toronto today 90-81. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Toronto players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Toronto players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Toronto star Wright was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Philadelphia players were a bit less exciting, with Eatmon giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Philadelphia was led by Eatmon (16 points, 7 boards, 0 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Ferguson (12 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, a block), Norman (16 points, 1 assists). Toronto was led by Wright (17 points, 9 boards, 0 assists, a block), Muse (18 points, 3 assists), Murray (12 points, 3 assists, a block).
