CVBL: New York Beats Phoenix
Beachum continues to dominate the league and helped New York post an expected win over Phoenix, 105-95. The game was a solid team effort, but Beachum - a favorite for post-season honors - was outstanding, completely overshadowing a great performance by Phoenix key player, Mercer.
Beachum's coach, Bob, had nothing but praise for his star. "He's just special. It's something just to sit back and watch him do his thing. He certainly brings pride to New York fans everywhere." Phoenix coach Bob was concilliatory after the game as well. "When Beachum is doing his thing, you just hope you can keep him under control. We didn't, though Mercer certainly did his part. We really thought we could win this game, so the locker room is pretty quiet right now. We'll just have to turn our focus to next week."
New York was led by Beachum (24 points, 0 assists, a steal, a block), Crawford (14 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Prince (14 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block). Phoenix was led by Mercer (6 points, 6 boards, 9 assists, 3 steals, a block), Martinez (21 points, 2 steals), Dupree (17 points, 2 assists, a steal).
