CVBL: Oklahoma Cty Comes up Big Over New York
Oklahoma Cty beat New York today, 105-96. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving New York players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, New York players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. New York star Crawford was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Oklahoma Cty players were a bit less exciting, with Golden giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Oklahoma Cty was led by Golden (23 points, 21 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Mcneil (22 points, 7 boards, 0 assists), Johnson (15 points, 6 boards, 1 assists, a steal, a block). New York was led by Crawford (11 points, 7 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Velazquez (15 points, 2 assists, 3 blocks), Powell (20 points, 5 boards, 1 assists).
