CVBL: Orlando and Oklahoma Cty Down to the Wire
Orlando beat Oklahoma Cty today, 113-104. But the big headlines in the game came from an incident involving Oklahoma Cty players and coach Bob after the game. After the players disappeared into their respective locker rooms, Oklahoma Cty players reportedly attacked coach, throwing him to the ground. Reporters waiting outside heard only pieces of the shouting, but the players were clearly upset by Bob's questionable calls late in the game. Oklahoma Cty star Bell was one of those involved, and was still upset about the situation during the post-game interviews. "I'm not free to comment on what happened," he said. "But I will tell you that I'm working my tail off every game and expect the same effort from my teammates and coaches."
Interviews with Orlando players were a bit less exciting, with Hunt giving the cliche line "we're just happy to come out with the win. Coach Bob and his team gave a good fight, but we were the better team today."
Orlando was led by Hunt (18 points, 14 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks), Brigmon (13 points, 11 boards, 4 assists, a block), Smith (9 points, 8 assists, a steal). Oklahoma Cty was led by Bell (20 points, 10 assists, 4 steals), Conard (17 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, a block), Kimbell (20 points, 1 assists, a block).
Orlando jump to 1-0 and 1-0 at home with this win. They stay at #1 in the Southeast and remain at #3 overall in the Eastern Conference. Oklahoma Cty are now 0-1 with the loss. They drop to #5 in the Northwest and drop to #12 overall in the Western Conference.
