CVBL: Sacramento Gets Win Over Golden State

A solid outing by Bravo led Sacramento to a 72-71 win over Golden State. "Take away Bravo, and we'd have won this thing," said Golden State coach Perez Suarez. "It was a very close game most of the way, and he was the one that put Sacramento over the top. I thought we had the right game plan and executed well. What's sad is that I don't know what we'd do differently next time, except for hoping for a more mortal performance by him."

Sacramento coach Bob was happy for the win, but concerned about the team's play. "I didn't think this was a very good team win. Our players seemed tempted to sit around and watch Bravo do his stuff. That was enough for the win today, but on another day maybe Bravo will be injured or our opponents can counter him, and we'll need the rest of the players to step up as well."

Sacramento was led by Bravo (23 points, 5 boards, 0 assists, 3 steals), Stanford (8 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks), Sherrill (14 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks). Golden State was led by Moore (14 points, 12 boards, 4 assists), Adkins (8 points, 17 boards, 1 assists, 3 blocks), Stanford (20 points, 5 boards, 1 assists, a steal).

Sacramento stand at 2-0 with this victory. They remain at #1 in the Pacific and advance to #2 overall in the Western Conference. With the defeat, Golden State drop to 1-1 and 1-1 at home. They drop to #4 in the Pacific and fall to #10 overall in the Western Conference.
