CVBL: Houston Cruises to 123-103 Win over Philadelphia
Houston gave a solid effort, handling Philadelphia with ease in today's 123-103 win. This came as no surprise to Houston fans, who have been watching their team continue to improve recently. Players are starting to feel more confident as well. "I feel we can take on just about anybody right now," said today's star, Howard. "The way this team's playing, there's no limit to how far we can go." Houston head coach Bob echoed his sentiment, saying "They all know they're as good as any other team in the league. They just have to stay focused and keep working, and the rest will take care of itself."
Lost in the excitement over Houston was the performance of Philadelphia star Thompson.
Houston was led by Howard (24 points, 10 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Woods (24 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a block), Marchese (20 points, 7 boards, 1 assists). Philadelphia was led by Thompson (28 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, a block), Alston (7 points, 4 steals), Hargrove (26 points, a steal, a block).
