CVBL: Toronto Gets Solid 114-103 Win
Toronto showed who was the better team tonight with a convincing 114-103 win over Chicago. Although not exactly a blowout, Toronto coach Bob and his players outplayed Chicago from start to end. "I was hoping for a better outcome," said Chicago coach Bob during a post-game interview. "But they just overpowered us, and there was nothing we could do to adjust. Bob's team was more talented and better-prepared, and it would have taken quite a bit of luck for us to overcome that."
The loss was tough on Chicago fans, who had expected great things from their team after some offseason moves. "I think reality is starting to sink in," said one team. "We didn't expect to see other teams outplaying us this badly, but Toronto sure made their point."
Toronto was led by Horne (17 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks), Moore (16 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, a steal), Whitaker (18 points, 2 steals, a block). Chicago was led by Tiller (19 points, 7 boards, 10 assists, a steal), Glover (14 points, 11 boards, 1 assists, 2 blocks), Mayes (22 points, 3 assists, a steal).
Toronto stand at 2-0. They stay at #1 in the Atlantic and hold at #1 overall in the Eastern Conference. Chicago are now 0-2 and 0-2 at home. They move down to #5 in the Central and move down to #15 overall in the Eastern Conference.
